October Group Classes

Monday October 7th - 28th

  • This is our introductory class. It is designed to get you started in salsa teaching you some of the basic steps and partnering skills. After this class you will move on to Salsa Level 2.

    No experience necessary.

  • This is a style that has ballet and contemporary influence. It is danced solo, no partner necessary. It is a choreography based class where you learn different choreography each month.

    This class is open to dancers of all levels.

  • In this class, we will continue to engrain what you learned in Salsa 1. You will also learn Broken Left Turns, Cross body lead, walk throughs, Hammer locks, and fun variations. This class has a 3 month revolving syllabus that you must complete before moving onto Salsa Level 3.

    Prerequisite: Salsa Level 1

  • This class has a two month rotating syllabus where we introduce you to Copas and Baskets. One month is focused on Copas and the other month is focused on Baskets

  • This is a style that has ballet and contemporary influence. It is danced solo, no partner necessary. It is a choreography based class where you learn different choreography each month. This class has a higher technique base integrating jumps and turns.

    Prerequisite Beginner lyrical or comparable experience.

 

Tuesday October 1st - 22nd

  • In this class you will be introduced to swing. We start off using single time swing to learn the basics, under arm turns, partnering skills and musicality.

  • This class is an introduction to Tango. Meant for someone with no prior experience. In this class you will be introduced to the the basic figures and partnering skills of Tango.

  • This class is taught as a 3 month series. We have 3 revolving syllabi used to teach the fundamentals of 6 count swing.

  • This class is a continuation of Intro to Tango. You’ll continue to expand on the fundamentals of tango to be able to comfortably social dance. In this class we will continue to work on the fundamentals learned in Intro to Tango. In this class we will mainly focus on learning and working on forward ochos as well as a few figures that go along with forward ochos. After this class you will move on to Beginner level 2 which focuses on Backwards Ochos.

Wednesday October2nd - 23rd

  • We offer a special 4 week group class to help prepare you for your wedding. In this class you will learn to feel comfortable dancing together so that you can just relax and enjoy your first dance. We will go over basic figures which can be used to any song. These will include a few basic steps, simple under arm turn, an entrance and exit to the floor plus a dip. After this class you’ll have learned enough to feel comfortable while also looking great dancing together. Combining this class with a few private lessons with one of our Wedding Packages is a perfect combination to have the best results.

  • This class will focus on building your technique in partnering skills. We will be teaching partnering skills of lead/follow and connections using the beginner level figures. This is crucial to being a good lead or follow and being able to handle the Intermediate level material.

    Prerequisite: Beginner Bachata. Everyone progresses at different rates. To ensure you are ready for this class, you must get the teachers permission before moving from beginner to intermediate level.

  • This class is an introduction to Bachata. Bachata is a super popular Latin dance that originated in the Dominican Republic. If you’re learning Salsa you definingly need to learn Bachata as well since they are both played equally at Salsa Clubs and parties.

  • In this class, you’ll continue to work on basic elements of bachata such as outside turns, hammer locks, drapes and start adding rotational figures. This class rotates through multiple months of syllabus so you’ll want to stay in this class for a couple months before moving onto the next level.

  • This class will focus on building your technique in partnering skills. We will be teaching partnering skills of lead/follow and connections using the beginner level figures. This is crucial to being a good lead or follow and to handle more challenging vocabulary and technique.

  • In this class, you will learn basic 8-count Lindy Hop figures starting with the swing out and the Charleston. Then we'll learn some variations and how to mix them with the 6-count swing steps you already know. We'll also learn the Shim Sham so you can join in the famous line dance!

    Prerequisite: Swing 3 or permission of the teacher

 

Thursday October 3rd - 24th

  • This class we will start working on more complex figures such as giros, baradas and sacadas. We will dig deeper into technique, styling and partner connections.

  • West Coast Swing is a slotted dance (like Salsa and Hustle) that evolved from Lindy Hop and is done to modern music. Come learn the basic figures from DCC’s newest addition to its staff!

  • This class will expand on what you learned in Intermediate 1. Adding new figures and digging deeper into technique. There is a higher focus on partnering skills in this class.

    Prerequisite Salsa Level 4

    Teacher: Jorge

  • This class will further build on the techniques and combinations of Intermediate Salsa, but allows for more complications.

    Prerequisite: Intermediate Salsa

  • This class is set as an ongoing class where each month we go over new topics and combinations of more advanced figures and techniques.

    Prerequisite all levels of Tango classes from Intro through intermediate and a strong foundation of the fundamentals.

Price

**In order for a class to run, we need a minimum of 4 students enrolled. If a class is canceled, we will either credit you towards another class or issue a refund.**

Price:

It is very helpful to us if you register ahead of time. Therefore, we give a lower rate for early registration.

Single Class (4 week session) $65 preregistered, $70 after 12pm on the first day of the month, $75 at the door.

This is for one class (example: Intro to Salsa) which meets once a week for 4 weeks.

Classes meet once a week for the first four weeks of the month. We do not hold classes on the fifth week of the month (if applicable)!

Monthly Unlimited Class Pass $105 preregistered, $110 after 12pm on the first day of the month. $115 at the door.

You can take any of the classes we offer at your level or below. You must complete the prerequisites of each level before moving on.

Class levels

Level 1 - This is the introductory level.

This is for people new to dance or taking a class of dance style they have never done before. This is run in a 4 week session going over the basics of a dance.

Level 2 - You must have completed the intro level or have an understanding of the basics of the dance.

Our second level is two broken up into two or three months of rotating syllabus depending on the class. Covering the fundamentals of the dance style. To move onto the intermediate level you must have completed both months and have a strong understanding of the material covered in this level.

Level 3 - You have completed level all months of our rotating syllabus for level 2 and be very comfortable with all the basics of a dance.

This level has a 3 month rotating Syllabus. You’ll want to take this level for 3 months in a row to go through all material before going to the advance levels. In this level we go over the more advanced fundamentals and figures of the dance.

Level 4 - You must have taken all months of the level 3 syllabus.

In this class you will learn the final fundamental figures of the dance. Work on using everything you know so far in more advanced combinations. This is to have you solid for our level 5 advanced classes.

Level 5 - This is our highest level classes. By this time you have taken about 9 months to a year of classes.

These classes are faster paced. We work on more advanced combinations and concepts in these classes.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Make-up Policy

We can not refund an individual class hour or transfer it to the next month. For example you are going to miss one class in a month. We can not refund that single class or transfer it to the next month.

Each class builds on the last class. We require that you make it to the class for at least 3 of the weeks so that the flow of class is not disrupted. If you need to miss a class this is ok. We always review what we went over the previous week before teaching new material.

We sell our classes monthly sessions of 4 weeks in a session. Each monthly session starts the first week of the month.

If you know at the beginning of the session you will miss a class we welcome you to jump into one of our other classes either the first or second week of the monthly session. After this all classes are closed.

It is up to you to make sure you make it to the classes. If you registered then realize you will miss most of the classes we can refund or transfer the current session to the next month.
